Severe Weather, Taylor Swift, NIU Kickoff

Mornin',
How are we?  Darn it, I guess a blog doesn't respond. Welp, I'm alright. Was supposed to get off work at midnight, but that ended being 5 am as Mother Nature cooked up one bad storm complex that raced across MN and WI. Winds gusted up to 71 mph at the international airport!  Thank goodness that wasn't during the morning or late afternoon airline rush. I was on the radar desk and put out quite a few warnings, some of the most ever in one sitting for me. So I woke some people up this morning, who are likely taking my name amongst four letter words at present.
So now here I am, listening to a little Taylor Swift.  I saw Ms. Swift open up for Brad Paisley last Thursday. Why don't I just comment on that concert now.  Uh ... AMAZING.  As I was reminding my good buddy Chad, known as Scruff by his four and only friends, I tend to overexagerate some things. But this concert really was awesome. Brad Paisley opened up with "So Much Cooler On-Line", a classic especially for you IMers out there. That is definitely a song about Paducah Peach. He sang a couple slow tunes, one remembering some of the bigger names that have passed away over the past year. During it, he showed the I-35W logo and the place gave a long applause. It was moving, especially knowing we were 4 miles from the bridge collapse site. Well from that high point of pride to the low point of when he sang his hit single "Alcohol", and the whole crowd saw swaying with some wearing lampshades on their head...that was amazing in itself. But the pre-concert ... wow.  Yes Ms. Taylor Swift, who somehow is 17 yet looks 27. That is a Luke dream for sure. But also the pre-concert had Kelly Pickler and Jack Ingram open too. What a show.  So I highly recommend getting both Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift's CDs each.  Good stuff.
Welp, looking forward to one heck of a weekend in Chicago.  A little Iowa vs. NIU in a showcase setting with great buddies Bobby and Danno, and a further assorted cast of characters. Partying two nights, and getting up ridiculously early both mornings afterwords, one to tailgate and one to catch my plane!  We better not fail on either! Welp that means I should try to get some sleep now, even though its 6:30 am. Thanks for riding in the Breeze!
