Warm, But Snow Not Far

Breezers,
It has been plenty mild out, with places in Minnesota pushing 80 on Sunday and Illinois seeing near 90 in a few communities.  In some fashion it's Indian Summer, but it was more thanks to one heck of a low pressure system that has since shot northeast towards Hudson Bay.  In it's wake, it left a couple feet of snow in parts of Montana, Wyoming, and the western Dakotas.  Check, check, check it out...

Say it ain't so, could that be snow?!  Getting a little too close to the 'Sota.  We checked out a few road dept webcams from eastern MT at work when it was really coming down.  It was sweet, but don't care to be watching that in October.  A few snowflakes possible up here in the Twin Cities Thursday night, but I will be back in the 'Dota area by then for the Mammen wedding weekend!!!

From the 'Sota to the 'Dota to the Flo'da,
MTF

More proof that the seasons are shifting. I'm gathering support for my theory here in Dayton. I've made firm believers out of several people. This climate shift needs to be recognized.

I propose we switch Christmas and Valentine's Day to ensure white Christmases throughout the midwest.

    Thoughts?

Vujea, good to hear from you outside of e-mail for once. The shifting seasons idea you have is totally backed up by recent numbers. This October in Minnesota has been much warmer than normal, especially in the Twin Cities. IL and OH seeing the same. I totally agree that if Christmas was in mid-February, the probability of a white Christmas would likely go up. Winter by definition starts just four days prior to Christmas now. Weird thing is, northern IL has had a couple white Thanksgivings in the past five years.

You mentioned Valentine's Day Vujea ... are you thinking about dropping an L-bomb to me??? Because the feeling is mutual.
