Let the Holiday Season Begin...
Hey folks!
Hope everyone is set for Thanksgiving tomorrow! Cannot believe, but better realize fast, that it's Nov 27th tomorrow. First, a few things. We'll start on the weather front (go figure!). Hey, it's supposed to be a weather blog so ...
Thanksgiving Climate Info for: Minneapolis Chicago/Rockford Grand Rapids, MI
Later today on Jeopardy, they will actually have "The National Weather Service" as a category for the first time ever. Jeopardy producers worked with staff in the Upton, NY, Weather Forecast Office to develop clues and answers. Jeopardy also shot weather forecasting scenes there and collected radar and other images to be used in video clues. So pretty cool there.
Also, I mentioned in recent blogging and to some of you informally that this cold weather stretch may show signs of breaking in early Dec. Unfortunately, that is not coming to fruition at least that soon. With this pattern though, keep in mind, it means a slower arrival of any snowstorms. Now I wouldn't necessarily consider that a good thing as a nice snow event would really get us in the mood for the Holidays. But, after last winter, it seems like many of my friends have had their blood thinned out. "I wanna move south" and "winter s*cks" and all this nonsense. No way! Tough it up! Some long range gurus in the NWS actually are calling for an active mid to late December though in the Midwest, which may mean some warmer air but also more precipitation ... rain or snow. Here's actually one with a blog. I know, another weather blog, all you need. It's actually sort of complex but fun reading if you're a nerd. It says more action coming later next month.
Last night, the Huskies finished their season up against Navy in DeKalb. Good game, even though they did fall on the short end of a 16-0 stick. Sis and Bobby were both there, and came very close to meeting which would have been a disaster!
So from the 'Sota to the 'Dota, and everywhere in between and not-in-between, travel safely and have a booyah (which means "wonderful" in Mendota) Thanksgiving!!!! Happy Holidays!

The way that a handful of corporations in Los Angeles dictate how our stories are told creates a real poverty of imagination and it's a big problem.
