Britney Spears

All,
The subject of this post was just mainly to catch people's attention.  It must have worked if you are reading this!  However, lately I have been rekindling my thoughts on the once so popular Britney Spears.  And it seems like I'm not alone.  Have you seen the pop magazine covers out there?  No I don't read them nor normally look at them, but the checkout line in the grocery store can lead to sporadic glancing at some of that nonsense.  Britney is on over half the covers at present!  Does this imply 2009 could be her comeback year?!  I hope so.  As some of you remember, especially the college folk, I was crazy for Ms. Spears in her prime.  Granted, that has changed.  But I still hold to this day, that when she said "I do" to Federline, she thought she was saying "I do" to FRIEDLEIN.  She just unfortunately heard wrong.

Well on the weather front, a change is in store ... of sorts.  Warmer air will work its way into the Midwest this weekend after a vacation of almost 40 days  The problem this means for IL is some likely rapid snow melt with some rain.  That could be bad for the IL River.  If you'll remember last January when the rapid snow melt occurred the IL river flooded fast.  That was extreme, but this still could potentially be big.  So watch for that through the next week.  In MN for us, it probably means a little bit of rain too but likely some good accumulating snow on Sunday into Monday for parts of the state on the backside of the system.  We'll see, but should be an active weekend at work.  Booooooyah!

Been some severe weather in the south lately, which tis the season for.  Could be some nasty 'naders into tonight in Georgia and the Carolinas.  But while watching some of the action down in TX a couple nights ago I saw this below, which they are experimenting with in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Basically, it's warnings with demographic info.  For Emergency Management folks, this would be a huge aid.  I'm not totally sure yet on the public front or for the NWS warning forecasters, as it should not "influence" a decision, but just lend more info.  It's a cool idea and shows where we are going.  Check it out...

So yeah, no severe thunderstorm warnings up here, although thunderstorms do look possible into IL this weekend. Luckies!

That's a wrap.  From the 'Sota to the 'Dota, keep rocking the Holiday season!
