Naders and Rain
Breezers,
Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday. The weather world's focus today is once again in the south, where tornadoes, severe winds, and heavy rains whip an already damaged and flooded area. Moderate risks for severe weather exist through tonight in parts of MS, AL, GA, and Flo'da. Remember the couple year drought that had existed in northern FL and GA? Long gone, or at least will be. Biloxi, MS has seen nearly 14 inches of rain over the past week and likely to have a couple more today. When looking at these maps, also note how northern IL continues to be much wetter than normal. Basically a bullseye on the World's Greatest.

Minnesota also has seen the moisture during the past month with St. Cloud having their second wettest March on record. So has everyone been doused? Well, note on the map above how there are southwest to northeast oriented paths of above normal precip. Those were basically the storm tracks during the past several weeks. In between, areas were near normal or even below normal, such as the immediate Ohio Valley. Storm tracks dictate everything and are basically what is attempted to be predicted when forecasting above/below normal precip for the nation. By the way, the April/May/June outlook calls for the Midwest to have equal chances of wetter or drier than normal. However, April is forecast to be wet unfortunately. You can view those outlooks here.
Off to work now. And Mengler, 'Vis, Roop, SLIM, I have nothing but love for the 'Burg. Though it did lose some flare with the Chili Pub closing.
